Our Ministries
Pastor Ben McKim
Pastor Ben McKim has served at Calvary Baptist Church since 2015. He is a native of Maryville, Missouri and a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University. Ben and his wife, Amanda, have three daughters. They love spending time together on their acreage, as well as working with their church family to minister to the community of Clarinda.
OUR MISSION
We believe that the Bible is the true, inspired word of God.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God - fully man and fully God.
We believe that humanity was created to walk in perfect relationship with God. However, we chose sin, and that perfect relationship was fragmented.
Because God is righteous and holy, there can be no sin in His presence. The only way for us to be justified before Him was through the atonement of a perfect sacrifice.
Because God loved us so much, He sent His only son, Jesus, to be born of a virgin. Jesus lived a perfect life, but was put to death on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. In that moment, the wrath of God meant for humanity was poured out on Jesus - the perfect Lamb. He was buried, and three days later He rose again - defeating the final enemy (death) and securing an opportunity for each of us to be reconciled to the Father.
The price has been paid and the victory has been secured, all we have to do is accept it. If we admit that we are sinners, believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and confess that He is Lord of our lives, then we get to experience redemption. And, once you’ve encountered Jesus, He changes EVERYTHING!
